2017 was quite a busy year. I said to myself a few times I would need a break towards the end of the year – no matter how short the break would be. Due to last minute booking, there were not many options. I finally was settled with a short trip to Fukuoka, for its convenience, variety of food and close proximity to everything – from the airport to the city centre, it would take only 10 to 15 minutes by subway.
While struggling whether I should rent a car, I made up my mind to get one so that I could stay in it and travel light despite the cold weather in Fukuoka. It turned out to be a good choice, and allowed me to travel all the way to visit the 777m-high, 390m-long Kokonoe Yume Bridge, the highest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. It was very windy and chilly! Yet, I could still walk on the bridge back and forth, within an hour, without experiencing too much shaking. An amazing bridge, an amazing experience to me.
I stayed at Crowne Plaza ANA Fukuoka, which provided very convenient car-parking facility, as well as nice wine-and-dine club lounge.
